Zig Zags in West Village

It’s been just over a week since I’ve moved to NYC and I honestly can’t believe I live here. Waking up in the Big Apple every morning feels so surreal — seeing all the tourists in my neighborhood, who’ve come to New York from all over the world, really puts into perspective how special this place truly is.

This past weekend a few friends came up to visit and celebrate my belated birthday. We grabbed brunch at Jack’s Wife Freda in West Village, a place I’ve been wanting to try for a while now. I’ve heard so many great things about it, and oh my goodness, it did NOT disappoint! I got the grapefruit and yogurt bowl (AMAZING), and my friends got the rosewater waffle, green shakshuka, and burger. I wanted to try everything on the menu!! In the meantime I’ll be attempting to recreate the yogurt and grapefruit recipe and eating it every day for breakfast, thank you very much.

How cute is this zig zag wall nearby? I love me a good backdrop for my OOTD shots. 😉 My dress is old and from Zara, but can we talk about these mules? These shoes are made for walking! They’re seriously one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I own and I’m OBSESSED with the blush color. Plus, they even have a heel, which is perfect for us petite girls. They also go with just about everything and I’ve been wearing them nonstop since I got them at Century 21 (my new favorite place to shop in the city!) a few days ago.

After brunch we explored more of the Greenwich Village neighborhood. Look what we found… the Friends apartment building!! It’s located on the corner of Bedford and Grove. Not gonna lie, I had a total fangirl moment. But important question though… where’s Central Perk?! The restaurant downstairs is actually called The Little Owl, and it’s going on my NYC food bucket list.

We ended our afternoon with some cookie dough at the ever so popular DŌ. I’m not a big cookie dough fan but I decided to try it for the experience. After all, we barely had to wait in line (20 minutes is nothing compared to the usual ~3 hours!) so I figured it would’ve been silly not to go in! I got the cake batter cookie dough, which was a bit too sweet for my liking. I prefer to eat my cookies cooked so I actually just took a bite and saved the rest to bake later. I loved the colorful decor inside the shop though, which was adorable.

West Village has so many delicious and cute places to eat, I’ll definitely be coming back for more. Here’s to many more adventures!
