Flower Sunday

Flower Sunday is without a doubt one of my favorite traditions during the school year. We have a bunch of cute campus traditions but there’s something special about Flower Sunday that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. 🙂

In the beginning of the new school year all first years (freshmen) get matched with a Big, who surprises them with a bouquet of flowers on Flower Sunday morning. Everyone then gathers together in the chapel for a multifaith ceremony to officially welcome the first years into the community. This tradition dates all the way back to 1875! Plus it’s an excuse to dress up, which is always nice. 😉

I absolutely love this BCBG dress and it is my go-to for days when I feel like dressing up just a bit. It’s comfortable, flowy, and hits all the right places, making it super flattering.

Secret: this “it” ring was only $3!!! Can you believe it? It’s been trending for over a year now, popping up all over Hollywood red carpets and Instagram. And it doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon. I bought it last fall at Bershka when I studied abroad in Switzerland. Sadly I can’t find the exact one online, but there are other relatively affordable versions here and here.

I’ve been trying to accessorize more since I own a bunch of accessories but hardly ever wear them, so they’re just sitting in my closet. Since my outfit was pretty neutral, I decided to add a pop of color with this J. Crew statement necklace. I’m a sucker for pastels so the contrast between the lavender and sea green was perfect.

Fall is almost here and I can’t wait. Changing leaves, cozy sweaters, pumpkin flavored everything… my favorite season is just around the corner.
