Secret Gardens, Hidden Gems

Every city has its hidden gems, and in my opinion, Boston’s is the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Located just behind the Museum of Fine Arts, the museum is designed to look like a Venetian palace and contains the art collections of Isabella Stewart Gardner, a prominent American art patron and philanthropist. Imagine over 100 years of history all conserved in one building?!

The beautiful courtyard.
I wonder what it’s like to have a garden in the middle of your house? Must be really nice… 😉

If I could, I would sit here with a good book and read all day. Isn’t it the perfect spot?

A mosaic wall. I’m obsessed.

Unfortunately, you aren’t allowed to take pictures anywhere else except for the courtyard. The museum has an AMAZING collection of art, and I would definitely stop by if you’re ever in Boston. You have to see it to believe it. Totally worth it!

And because it’s the weekend and midterms season, #treatyoself. I finally tried the famous ramen at Santouka… The lines there are always super long and everyone says it’s the best ramen place in Boston, so I had pretty high expectations going in. It was good, but I gotta say, I still prefer Ippudo in NYC. 🙂

And of course, dessert. 🙂

Guess what’s inside?

Pro tip: Mike’s Pastry is one of the most popular bakeries in town. They are known for their cannolis and their North End location, but did you know they also have a shop in Harvard Square? The lines are SO much shorter. If you’re ever craving some cannolis and don’t want to wait in line… you know where to go. 😉

But knowing me… dessert means cupcakes!!

Peanut butter and Oreo cupcakes. I HAVE NO WORDS. AMAZING.

It’s supposed to get much warmer soon, which means spring is almost here! I can’t wait to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. If it snows again, I think I will cry… LOL! Let’s keep our fingers crossed. 😉
