How to See Prague in Less Than 24 Hours

I have officially come to the conclusion that Europe is prettier in the rain. The calm, cozy kind on an autumn day that leaves the earth smelling refreshed and makes you want to sip your favorite tea… The rain in Prague this weekend? That was perfect.

If you only have one day in Prague, what better to do than discover the old charms of the city? Strolling through the streets of Europe and catching up with my friend Sasha was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. In high school we had always dreamed of wandering through the streets of Europe together; never did we think this would be the reality!

So, in a speed-round tour of the city, here are the places we saw:

  • Old Town Square, Astronomical Clock
  • Charles Bridge
  • Prague Castle, Golden Lane
  • Church of St. Nicholas
  • St. Vitus Cathedral
  • National Theater
  • Dancing House

And of course, no meet-up would be complete without food! We grabbed dinner at the Mistral Café Restaurant in the city center. Sure beats having to cook for myself!

I only had about 6-8 hours in Prague — while I wish I could’ve explored more of the city, I’m glad I got to see the main sights. I guess this just means I’ll have to come back again!
